What You'll Do
We're seeking a Senior Gameplay AI Engineer to work on various initiatives in the Fortnite ecosystem. We believe that the best gameplay experiences are driven by collaboration and interaction between gameplay programmers, designers, and artists. You'll play a key role in driving future gameplay AI resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with art and design teams to create and iterate on gameplay AI resources
- Test and refine game design through rapid prototyping, ensuring robust architecture and algorithm decisions
- Develop, build, and maintain central AI systems in the Fortnite AI ecosystem
- Work with engine AI developers to improve AI systems
- Ensure high-quality user experiences across all platforms we support
- Optimize and correct errors in existing gameplay AI systems
What We're Looking For
- Professional experience in game development and launching AAA titles with experience in AI
- Experience working with AI systems (Behavior Trees, Finite State Machine, Pathfinding, etc.)
- Strong C++ skills and ability to code and develop gameplay AI tools
- Good knowledge of games and ability to articulate strengths and weaknesses in existing game designs (preference for online game interest)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Preference for console/mobile experience
- Self-motivated, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently
- Creativity in problem-solving and ability to think outside established solutions
- Experience working with live-service games is a plus
