Epic Games is seeking a Technical Production Lead to join the Fortnite Core Tech team. As a Technical Production Lead, you will be responsible for leading one of our main research and development programs involving large cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams. These initiatives will touch on the fundamental systems of the game and engine, including internal development and.maintenance (DevOps) and stability, technical initiatives related to the editor, or improving game access time.
In this role, you will collaborate with the entire Fortnite organization and with team leaders across the company to manage program objectives, execution, and results. We are looking for someone who can manage multiple priorities simultaneously, comfortable in a complex and constantly evolving environment, with excellent communication skills and able to drive roadmaps and timelines covering a set of initiatives that may be poorly defined. The ideal candidate has experience in game development, engines, or technology frameworks, and has already worked directly with programmers and the systems they develop.
As a Technical Production Lead, you will be responsible for:
- Collaborating with programming directors, product managers, and leaders to define program strategies and initiatives
- Establishing a feedback mechanism around the roadmap to track progress, risks, and achievements, and ensuring visibility at the organizational level
- Contributing to evolving operations to support the Metaverse vision
- Directly managing producers or influencing other teams on their priorities and work methods
- Being comfortable in defining long-term direction as well as resolving daily technical issues
We are looking for someone with:
- Solid experience collaborating with programmers and on complex technical projects
- Ability to define a strategic vision while being able to enter into technical details
- Experience managing program results, with a sufficient understanding to validate the relevance and solidity of proposed plans
- Good understanding of complex system functioning, their role, and interactions, with a marked curiosity to understand their mechanisms
- Excellent organizational skills in unstructured contexts and ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities
- Experience in DevOps, game engines, platforms, and tools is highly desirable
- Significant experience in managing large team roadmaps and mobilizing teams around common objectives
- Experience in structuring and developing organizations to support growth and demand
- Ability to work effectively with assertive stakeholders while achieving expected results
