What You'll Do
As a member of the Unreal Engine team, you will lead a group responsible for the entire technological infrastructure behind Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN). Your mission will be to enable creators to build ever-larger and higher-quality experiences, while pushing the limits of content creation and delivery. In addition to evolving our tools for user-generated content, you will participate in adapting this technology to meet the needs of our titles, such as Battle Royale, LEGO Fortnite, and more. Our work will redefine the design of these products and transform Fortnite into a true open metaverse platform. Most importantly, you will work with a creative, energetic, and passionate team to continue making Unreal the best game development engine on the market.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Lead a team that ensures the maintenance, optimization, and improvement of processes and tools behind UEFN
- Ensure strategic direction of UEFN production chain development in the medium and long term
- Design systems and approaches that enable progressive, large-scale changes to a product in continuous service
- Collaborate closely with game teams to gather and meet partner requirements
- Actively contribute to the codebase, diagnose problems, and ensure rapid resolution
- Manage team priorities and delivery schedules, anticipating risks and developing contingency plans
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in leading a programming team
- Solid C++ programming skills
- Confirmed experience in designing, developing, and launching complex systems
- Ability to drive long-term development objectives while achieving tangible results in the short term, holding the team accountable for their objectives
- Marked passion for optimizing developer workflow methods and user experience
- Ability to collaborate across the company, building relationships and coordinating efforts with other teams
