As a Lead Technical Producer at Epic Games, you will be part of a team that creates high-quality products and experiences, driving a vision from start to finish and collaborating with teams to deliver Epic-quality projects.
What You Will Do
We are looking for a Lead Producer to join our Core Tech team at Fortnite and lead one of our main R&D programs in technology, involving large inter-team and multi-functional groups. This will include low-complexity game and engine systems, including workflows and internal development processes. Possible options include internal DevOps and stability, technology-related initiatives to the editor, and reducing game time.
In this role, you will work with the broader Fortnite organization and specific team leaders across the company to manage goals, execution, and results of the program. We are looking for people who excel at managing multiple fronts simultaneously, thrive in chaos, have excellent communication skills, and feel comfortable managing roadmaps and schedules for a set of initiatives with little structured scope. Ideal candidates have experience in game development, engines, or hardware frameworks, as well as direct experience with engineers and the systems they develop.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Engineering Directors, Product Owners, and executive stakeholders to define strategies and initiatives for the program
- Develop a feedback loop for the roadmap that addresses health, risks, and progress, consolidating this information for the organization as a whole
- Help size operations to support the broader metaverse vision
- Directly manage producers or operate individually, influencing other teams in what they do and how they execute
- Act 50% at a high level and 50% in details, managing technical work
What We Are Looking For
- Solid experience working with engineers and technical projects
- Ability to drive high-level goals and vision, as well as dive into technical details
- Experience managing program results and sufficient knowledge to validate the underlying plan
- Understanding of complex systems, what they do, and why they do it. Demonstrate curiosity about how everything works
- Strong ability to organize unstructured work and manage multiple competing demands
- Experience with DevOps, game engines, platforms, and tools is highly desirable
- Robust experience managing roadmaps for large teams, mobilizing teams around common objectives
- Experience managing and growing organizational structures to scale with demand
- Experience working with strong personalities and still achieving desired results
