Senior Systems Designer
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Designer to join our team at Epic Games. As a Senior Systems Designer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing key features related to progression, economy, and gameplay balance for a new game project.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate closely with project leads and directors to shape and evolve complex design systems that support engagement, gameplay, and creative vision
- Design, document, prototype, and iterate on these systems working with a multidisciplinary team of developers, and oversee their successful implementation from start to finish
- Participate actively in creating scripts, data, and content required by these systems by diving into the engine and leveraging other tools
- Solicit and integrate proactive feedback from the entire team to ensure a fun and engaging experience for players
- Develop and iterate on these systems once they are deployed in live environment to ensure the game remains engaging and fun for players
What We Are Looking For
- More than 5 years of experience in delivering titles as a systems designer, having worked on progression, economy, game systems, and gameplay balance
- Experience working in multiplayer live service environments and ability to work directly in Unreal Engine, with mobile game experience being a plus
- Demonstrated talent for empathy towards players and a deep understanding of their motivations, play forms, and the effects of progression and objectives on the gaming experience
- Strong interest in game progression and economy, and understanding of their success mechanisms
- Ability to take initiative and react quickly to changing project needs, orient decisions, and assume results and vision
- Player-focused, passionate, solution-oriented, and innovative – these traits are a guarantee of success at Epic and influence everything we do
