We are looking for a talented Senior Technical Animation Designer to join our team working on multiple animation systems. As a Senior Technical Animation Designer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing animation systems that enable character movements that are both attractive and of high quality. You will be the primary point of contact for animation-related issues and technical challenges, and will work closely with the animation, design, and programming teams to ensure the smooth operation and efficiency of the animation process. You will also contribute to identifying potential problems and deploying solutions, using your technical expertise to facilitate communication between the animation team and other disciplines.

Responsibilities:

• Design tools, techniques, and animation behavior approaches that enable the creation of complex movement systems
• Design and implement state machines, animation behaviors, and real-time execution solutions
• Collaborate closely with the animation, design, and programming teams to analyze, diagnose, and resolve animation-related issues in the game and technical challenges in animation
• Work closely with the animation leadership to maintain the visual style and quality standards of the game's animations
• Identify opportunities to improve animation processes and methods, and propose solutions to technical animation problems, including team training and documentation creation

Requirements:

• Excellent animation sense and deep understanding of realistic and stylized character movements, as well as modern methods for achieving them
• Expertise in animation pipelines, including content creation tools such as Maya, MotionBuilder, and Unreal Engine, with the use of the entire Control Rig toolset
• Strong problem-solving skills, excellent written communication skills, and a team spirit
• Knowledge of animation gameplay tools, such as blend trees and state machines; experience with Unreal Engine's animation visualization plans is a plus
• Experience in AAA game development, ideally in a large team using an established game engine (internal or commercial); experience with Unreal Engine is a plus
• Autonomy, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently
• No C++ programming knowledge required
