Corsair’s direct sim racing hardware presence was minimal until their significant investment in Endor AG, Fanatec’s parent company, in May 2024. As a PC gaming giant founded in 1994, Corsair brings strong brand recognition, financial stability, and expertise in hardware and software ecosystems. Their acquisition offers potential for Fanatec to stabilize and innovate, leveraging Corsair’s resources. Whilst concerns remain about the impact on Fanatec’s product development and brand identity, choosing Fanatec now means choosing a Corsair-backed brand. For sim racers, Corsair is known for reliable PC components and high-performance monitors essential for any serious racing setup.

What’s new from Corsair
Since early 2024, the most significant development for Corsair in sim racing is its acquisition of Endor AG, the parent company of Fanatec, completed in April 2024. This strategic move marks Corsair’s direct entry into the high-performance sim racing hardware market. Whilst no new Corsair-branded sim racing products have been released, Corsair now effectively owns the entire Fanatec ecosystem including their popular direct-drive wheel bases, racing wheels, load cell pedals, shifters, and cockpits. The acquisition provides access to Fanatec’s established force feedback technology, haptic systems, and modular component designs. Future synergies, potential software integration with Corsair iCUE, or cross-branding are possibilities, but specific product updates under the Corsair banner are yet to be announced post-acquisition.
