Le Mans Ultimate inherits the rFactor 2 physics stack and its FFB. Studio 397 added the proper Steering Torque Capability Nm cap (you tell LMU what your base’s max torque is), which makes setup cleaner than rF2 ever was. Run wheelbase software near 100%, drop in-game FFB Strength per base, and watch the Invert FFB toggle: it must be ON for Logitech G29/G923 and Thrustmaster T300, OFF for every direct drive. Smoothing stays low (0-2) on DD and rises to 3-6 to silence gear chatter on the older Logitechs.

How LMU force feedback works
LMU exposes Steering Torque Capability (Nm cap matching your base’s max output), FFB Strength (%), Smoothing, Min Torque (%), and an Invert FFB toggle. Steering Torque Capability is the single most important call: set it exactly to your base’s peak Nm (5, 8, 12, 15, 17, 20, 21, 23, 25, 32 depending on your hardware). LMU uses that to scale telemetry sensibly so you can run FFB Strength below 100% without losing detail.
Two LMU-specific quirks worth knowing. Invert FFB must be ticked ON for Logitech G29, G920, G923 and Thrustmaster T300. Without it the wheel pulls toward the walls rather than centering, a long-standing rF2/LMU compatibility behaviour. For DD bases, leave it OFF. Second: Steering Torque Sensitivity on the Moza R5 and R9 – bump to 135-150% if the wheel feels too light at slow corners (compensates for the lower peak Nm).

| ClubSport DD 12Nm | 12 Nm | 55-65% | 1-2 |
| ClubSport DD+ 15Nm | 15 Nm | 50-60% | 1-2 |
| Podium DD1 20Nm | 20 Nm | 40-50% | 1-2 |
| Podium DD2 25Nm | 25 Nm | 35-45% | 1-2 |

Moza settings for LMU
Moza on LMU: Hands Off Protection OFF in Pit House (it bugs out and cuts LMU FFB mid-corner). Road Sensitivity stays low (3-5) – LMU’s kerbs are violent enough.
| Base | Steering Torque Capability | FFB Strength | Smoothing |
|---|---|---|---|
| R5 (5.5Nm) | 5.5 Nm | 85-90% | 0-2 |
| R9 (9Nm) | 9 Nm | 75-85% | 0-2 |
| R12 (12Nm) | 12 Nm | 65-75% | 0-2 |
| R16 (16Nm) | 16 Nm | 50-60% | 0-2 |
| R21 (21Nm) | 21 Nm | 45-55% | 0-2 |
Min Torque 0%, Invert FFB OFF. R5/R9 only: push Steering Torque Sensitivity to 135-150% if slow corners feel too light. Pit House: Max Torque 100, Wheel Speed 100, FFB EQ Linear, Damping ~2%, Road Sensitivity 3-5, Hands Off Protection OFF.

Simagic settings for LMU
Simagic on LMU: FFB Detail at 0 in SimPro Manager – leave it on default and the signal feels artificially gritty. Wheel Rotation Speed at 35-50 (lower than other sims).
| Base | Steering Torque Capability | FFB Strength | Smoothing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alpha Mini (10Nm) | 10 Nm | 60-70% | 1-3 |
| Alpha (15Nm) | 15 Nm | 45-55% | 1-3 |
| Alpha U (23Nm) | 23 Nm | 45-55% | 1-3 |
Min Torque 0%, Invert FFB OFF (toggle if wheel pulls to walls). SimPro Manager: FFB 100, Smoothness 0, Wheel Rotation Speed 35-50, FFB Detail 0, Mech Friction/Damper 0-5%.

Simucube settings for LMU
Simucube on LMU: TrueDrive needs almost zero filtering thanks to LMU’s high refresh-rate signal. Reconstruction Filter at 1, all damping/friction/inertia under 2%.
| Base | Steering Torque Capability | FFB Strength | Smoothing |
|---|---|---|---|
| SC2 Sport (17Nm) | 17 Nm | 45-55% | 0-1 |
| SC2 Pro (25Nm) | 25 Nm | 35-45% | 0-1 |
| SC2 Ultimate (32Nm) | 32 Nm | 25-35% | 0-1 |
Min Torque 0%, Invert FFB OFF. TrueDrive: Overall Strength 100, Recon Filter 1, Damping/Friction/Inertia 1-2%, Slew Rate Unlimited, Ultra Low Latency 0%.

Logitech settings for LMU
Logitech G29/G920/G923 in LMU need Invert FFB ON (toggle in-game) and Smoothing 4-6 to silence gear chatter. The DD G PRO and RS50 follow standard rules. TrueForce on the DD wheels stays at 30-50% – max out and the LMP/Hypercar engine vibrations will rattle your desk.
| Base | STC | FFB Strength | Smoothing | Min Torque | Invert FFB |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| G29 / G920 / G923 | 2.5 Nm | 85-95% | 4-6 | 2-4% | ON |
| RS50 (8Nm DD) | 8 Nm | 75-85% | 1-2 | 0% | OFF |
| G PRO (11Nm DD) | 11 Nm | 75-85% | 1-2 | 0% | OFF |
G HUB: 900-1080°, Centring 0, Sensitivity 50 (G29/G920/G923). RS50/G PRO: Strength = max Nm, TrueForce 30-50%.

Thrustmaster settings for LMU
T300 in LMU also needs Invert FFB ON and the thermal-fade fix (Overall 75% in TM Panel for endurance stints). T818 follows DD rules but stick with Mode Sport, not Extreme – LMU on Extreme triggers wild oscillation on straights.
| Base | STC | FFB Strength | Smoothing | Min Torque | Invert FFB |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| T300 RS (belt) | 4 Nm | 70-77% | 3-5 | 1-2% | ON |
| T818 (10Nm DD) | 10 Nm | 45-55% | 1-2 | 0% | OFF |
TM Panel: T300 Overall 75% (force fan on), Constant/Periodic 100, Spring/Damper 0-10. T818: Mode Sport (not Extreme), Gain 100, Damper 0-5.

Common mistakes in LMU wheel settings
- Steering Torque Capability set wrong. Leaving it at the default rather than matching your base’s Nm cap leads to clipping or lifeless feel. Set it exactly to base max.
- Invert FFB OFF on G29/G920/G923 and T300. The wheel pulls toward the walls. ON for those four bases, OFF for every DD.
- Smoothing at 0 on a Logitech G29. Gear chatter overwhelms the signal. 4-6 on gear/belt, 0-2 on DD.
- Hands Off Protection ON in Moza Pit House. Bugs out, cuts FFB mid-corner. Turn OFF for LMU.
- T818 in Mode Extreme. Wild straight-line oscillation. Use Sport on LMU.
- T300 at 100% Overall. Thermal fade over an endurance stint. Cap at 75% and force the fan.
LMU inherits a lot of rF2’s character – heavy, deliberate, telemetry-driven. If you find the wheel pulling toward the walls on a G29, G923 or T300, that’s the Invert FFB toggle (must be ON for those three). Get Wheel Force to match your base’s real Nm, hit Soft Lock, drive a stint, then tweak. The DD wheel settings hub is the parent. The RevoSim deep-dive is here.
